Felipe Sinohui received the Outstanding Graduate Student for the M.A. in Global Logistics award in spring 2010. Since graduating, Sinohui has started a new job as a performance management analyst at Harbor Freight Tools. He is working for the vice president of inventory who oversees distribution, forecasting, allocation and supply chain. Sinohui’s job is to create metrics that measure the performance of every team and create a centralized data bank that allows the teams access to the same data. This past fall, Sinohui began taking classes for the systems engineering and math Ph.D., which is jointly offered by CSULB and Claremont Graduate School. While he is not yet sure on what field of study he will focus his Ph.D. research, he is seriously investigating Smart Grids so he can acquire a technical perspective in systems operations, modeling and optimization. Sinohui's long-term plans are to become a consultant in optimization and modeling, focusing on logistics and perhaps clean energy distribution, and since he enjoys the college atmosphere so much, perhaps one day he will consider a career in academia.
