M
y Beach experience has consisted of countless opportunities, endless friendships, and a character building experience that has made me into the soon to be college graduate I am today.
CSULB was my first choice. It had the perfect location, a large, diverse student body, and a very laid back atmosphere. Being from a small town in Northern California, I knew that I wanted to mix it up by being at a school that had a lot of people, as well as a lot of sun! Long Beach has surpassed all of my expectations, I feel like the school let me get the most out of my college experience; whether through high quality academics, club involvement, or great sporting events, and for that I am so thankful.
There have been so many great opportunities that CSULB has given me. I have been able to gain experience through internships, one of which was on campus at the Lois J. Swanson Leadership Resource Center, another was with JetBlue that I was able to find through BeachLink. CSULB has allowed me to develop my leadership skills through the numerous campus organizations we have on campus. I think that our Student Life and Development Center is something we should all be very appreciative of: we have a club for anything and everything! As a CSULB Greek woman, I have been able to learn time management skills, create lifetime friendships, and develop my character.By surrounding myself with proud, dedicated, and passionate 49er Greeks, I have been able to strengthen my own leadership skills, abilities, and pride in the University. CSULB’s open and comfortable atmosphere has allowed me to grow so much during my college experience.
I am moving to Marina del Rey where I will be pursuing a career in University related services. I plan on pursuing a Masters Degree and hope to work for CSULB one day. As an alum, I will be returning to the campus in the fall as a Rho Gamma for next year’s CSULB Pan-Hellenic Recruitment, leading new students through the process of Greek recruitment. I have learned so much and had such great fun doing it that I look forward to being an active alum for the BEACH; doing whatever I can to make sure CSULB continues to shine! I recently took the first step by joining the Alumni Association and I cannot wait to show my Alumni Beach pride. I bleed black and gold!
