My name is Ashley Rodriguez, I am a Nursing major and this is mybeach Experience:
I have had such an amazing experience at CSULB, meeting such wonderful people and participating in so many events through the CNSA. I wouldn’t change a single thing.
All throughout high school, I had known I wanted to major in Nursing at CSULB. I applied and was fortunate enough to be accepted. I applied to the Nursing program in 2010, and have spent the last 3 years working towards my dream of becoming a nurse.
Studying for, and passing, my NCLEX!
Favorite Professor: I can’t just choose one!
Favorite Class: NRSG 453—Advanced Nursing in Maternal Child Health. I had such an amazing experience in this class and was able to work along side a nurse throughout my last semester, caring for children on an oncology unit. Not only was my experience at the hospital something I will never forget, but also it solidified my desire of becoming a pediatric nurse.
Favorite Spot on Campus: My favorite spot on campus is probably in the central quad area in upper campus. Its a nice place to relax, talk to friends, eat lunch and throw a frisbee around.
Activities and Organizations: My last year of nursing school, I joined the California Nursing Student Association (CNSA) and was a class representative for the graduating senior class. I had many amazing volunteer and fundraising opportunities through the CNSA, including raising money for pediatric cancer and cooking meals for families of hospitalized children.
