The Senior Class Council members included Ron Burnett, Jerome Montgomery, Robert Morrison, Myrna Bagley, Harold Lynch, Alan Anderson, Eve Kilger, Kay Phillips, Bobbie Fisher, Roberta Hawthorne, Jim Armor, Gary Flynn, and Pat Greeley.
The theme for Homecoming was "Around the world in song". Parade floats designed by various student organizations showcased songs such as "Showboat", "St. George and the Dragonette", "Doggie in the Window" and "Sayonara".
Tri-Delta and Tekes grab sweepstakes in Spring Sing. More than 500 students participated in the college's ninth annual Spring Sing. Tau Kappa Epsilon and Delta Delta Delta accepted both the sweepstakes and "most professional" trophies after their unique presentation in Russian of the Russian folk song, "Meadowland".
Pete's Gulch, boomed to life once more as hundreds of students and faculty members trekked to lower campus for 49'er Day. After the official opening of the town by President McIntosh, the crowd participated in contests and enjoyed variety acts staged by campus organizations.
Life on campus continues to bloom at an exceeding rate with the number of students growing to 10,000 at this time, spread through 33 majors. The completion of the student dorms, Associated Students building, and library building increased the size as well as the level of activity on the campus.
