Beach
alumni are invited to view the most important private gem collection on t he
United States, the Michael Scott Collection, at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. Guests will see most of the major gem
species in every color and every variety
known. In addition, you will see
very rare examples of little known color varieties
such as green tanzanites and electric blue tourmalines. This exhibit also features
stones too rare to be used in the jewelry trade, antique jewelry and spectacular
gem carvings.
Join CSULB alumni and guests for lunch at Tangata on site at the Bowers and a lecture by graduate and gemologist Mark Schneider. Then enjoy the GEMS! Colors of Light and Stone Exhibit and the rest of the Bowers Museum at your leisure.
