A Long Beach, Calif., native, Richard Bryson is president and CEO of the Bryson Financial Group, one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the nation. Throughout his career, he has continued his education, obtaining business scholarships from the Universities of Michigan and Notre Dame, and gaining professional designations from Pennsylvania’s University of Bryn Mawr.

Bryson is very active in community activities, serving as past president of the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach, Pacific Hospital Foundation and the Virginia Country Club; and presently sitting on the Memorial Medical Center Foundation board of directors. In recognition of his contributions, he was named the Junior Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year and the National Boys and Girls Foundation Golden Boy award recipient.

He is a member of the Long Beach Polytechnic High School Football Hall of Fame as well as CSULB’s 49er Athletic Hall of Fame for football and baseball. While attending CSULB on a full scholarship, Bryson’s athletic performance led to All-League and All-American football recognition.

He also served as fraternity Sigma Alpha Epsilon president. His connections to the university remain strong, including past service as the 49er annual fund drive chair and 49er Athletic Club president, and maintaining his Athletics Director’s Circle membership. The “Bryson Financial” name sits above the Blair Field scoreboard. Bryson and his wife, Bree, have four children and eight grandchildren.
