Agnes Guerard Rodgers

Her name may not be a household word but her work is seen and admired by millions of movie-watchers who have seen “The Color Purple”, “The Witches of Eastwick” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.” Agnes Guerard Rodgers’ costume designs help set the mood, tone and character of the films.

Since her first film assignment of designing George Lucas’ “American Graffiti,” she has worked on about 17 films, and received one of the highest commendations by getting and Academy Award nomination for “The Color Purple”.

Her other film credits include “Cocoon,” “The Return of the Jedi, and “Batteries Not Included.” However, she does’nt rest on her laurels. “No one in the film business can rest on his or her past work. It is whatever you are working on at the moment which is the best!” she said. Currently, she is working on Lawrence Kasdan’s film “I Love You To Death.”
