Position: Full-Time Lecturer in Criminology and Criminal Justice

Effective Date: August 19, 2019 (Fall Semester) or January 21, 2020 (Spring Semester)

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

 

Required Qualifications:

  • M.A./M.S. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or related discipline
  • Those with an earned Juris Doctorate (J.D.) are welcome to apply
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or related discipline or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by date of appointment
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence at the college level
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence in criminological theory and research methods
  • Evidence of professional leadership and support
  • Demonstrated commitment to student mentorship

Duties:

  • Teach courses in at least three of the following areas:
  • CRJU 101: The Criminal Justice System in Society
  • CRJU 301: Criminal Courts & Judicial Processes
  • CRJU 302: Policing
  • CRJU 304: Criminological Theory
  • CRJU 320: Criminal Justice Research Methods
  • CRJU 330: Criminal Justice Ethics, Values, & Diversity
  • CRJU 340: Substantive Criminal Law
  • CRJU 350: Constitutional Criminal Procedure
