Ms. Anna W. Ngai earned her bachelor’s degree in finance from California State University, Long Beach, in 1974.  She came to CSULB as an international student from Hong Kong.

Over the last 30 years, Anna co-founded several companies which operate different chains of restaurants throughout northern California and southern Oregon.  During the 90s, she also co-founded two local banks in northern California and served as a board member on one of them.  Upon her return to southern California in 2007, Anna joined the Newport Beach Rotary Club and served as Treasurer for two years.  She was also a member of The Ninety-Nines (an international organization of Women Pilots).

Anna provided the lead gift for the new Anna W. Ngai Alumni and Visitor Center, which will serve as a gathering place for the Beach community, as well as a new gateway to the CSULB campus.  Anna who valued her experience at CSULB and is a believer in the importance of higher education and in giving back, is a recipient of the prestigious Carillon Society Award, an honor reserved for donors who have made transformational gifts to the campus.
