Linda Rose is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music where she was a scholarship student of Ivan Galamian and Dorothy Delay. Her early training was with Manuel Compinsky. Ms. Rose has played in the Los Angeles Philharmonic under conductors Carlo Maria Giulini and Zubin Mehta, among others, and was the concertmaster and soloist with the Long Beach Bach Festival for 11 years. She has recordings with them on Alpine Records.
In addition to her performances as soloist and chamber musician she is an internationally known teacher of talented young violinists. Her students have won The Music Center Spotlight Award and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Bronislav Kaper Award among many others. Ms. Rose has taught and performed at Festivals in St. Petersberg Russia; Tuscany, Italy; Niagara, Canada; New York and Beverly Hills.
Ms. Rose is the Author of Progressive Scale Studies, published by Neil Kjos, and joined the faculty of California State University, Long Beach in January 1998.
