Kimiyo Takeya, violin, is a graduate of the Toho School of Music in Tokyo, and the Guildhall School of Music in London. She has been a member of the CSULB Music Department since 1998. She serves as a chamber music coach for the Junior Chamber Music program of Southern California, and is a faculty member of Long Beach City College.

She is currently a member of the Pacific Symphony and the Opera Pacific Orchestra.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Ms. Takeya has performed with the Los Angeles Mozart Orchestra, the Pacific Chamber Players, Key West Music Festival, Scottish Televison, and the Queen Elizabeth 2 World Cruise.

Additional performances include The American Ballet Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet, The Kirov Ballet, The Bolshoi Ballet, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, and many musical theatre productions including Phantom of the Opera.

As an active studio musician she can be heard on numerous film scores, albums, television shows, and advertisements. Some of her credits include The Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, The Incredibles, Lemony Snicket A Series of Unfortunate Events, Robocop, Aladdin, Mission Impossible, Pocahontas, Star Trek, JAG, and with Chayenne.
