J. Mark Appleberry
(B.A.
Philosophy, CSULB 1992) received his J.D. from Boston University in
1995,
where he was an editor on the Law Review. He has been admitted
to
the bar in Illinois and Kentucky. After practicing law for several
years, he is now CEO and President of Thoroughbred Technologies in
Louisville, Kentucky, twice named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of
the "Hot-100" fastest growing new businesses in the nation.
W. Frank Baber (B.A.
Philosophy
and Political Science, CSULB 1975) earned a J.D. from the University of
San Diego and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
HIll,
and is now an Associate Professor in the Graduate Center for Public
Policy
and Administration at CSULB. He was admitted to the State Bar of
California in 1992.
Nathan
Brodnax (B.A. Philosophy,
CSULB 2004) received his J.D. from Pepperdine
School of Law in 2007. He attended with a full scholarship and was a
member of the Pepperdine Law Review.
He is now employed with the sports management agent of Pavia, Ciscone
and Associates in Huntington Beach, and was admitted to
the State Bar of California in December 2007.

"Outstanding Graduate" of the College of Liberal Arts in 2005. She was
the Symposiums Editor of the Asian
American Law Journal for 2006-2007.
Laura Clark (B.A.

December 2001) received her J.D. from Boalt Hall (UC Berkeley) in May
2005. In 2004-5, she was editor-in-chief of the Boalt Journal of Criminal Law and a
member of the Boalt Death Penalty Clinic. She passed the July 2005 exam
of the State Bar of California, and is an Associate at McGlynn &
McGlynn in Red Bluff, CA.

Kathryn Gainey (B.A.

and Economics, CSULB 2000) received her J.D. in 2003 from Harvard Law
School,
where she was Managing Editor of the Harvard Environmental Law
Review.
Named "Outstanding Graduate" of the College of Liberal Arts in 2000, she was an associate after graduation in the
Washington
office
of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where she was a
member of the Litigation department. She served as a clerk for the
Honorable James S. Gwin,
Akron, OH, a federal judge for the
Northern District of Ohio, and then for the Honorable Mary
Beck Briscoe, of the U.S. Court of Appeals, 10th Circuit, in Lawrence,
Kansas. She returned to Steptoe & Johnson LLP after
completing her clerkship. She was admitted
to the
State Bar of California in December 2003, and to the District of
Columbia Bar in August 2004.
Kimberly Gainey (B.A.

Sacramento in 2002-2003. She received her J.D. in May 2006 from William
and Mary School of Law in
Williamsburg, Virginia, where she
was
Articles Editor for the Journal of Women and
the Law and was honored as a
Legal Skills Scholar and received the National Association of Women
Lawyers Award. She was
named "Outstanding Graduate" of the College of Liberal Arts in
2002. She passed the Virginia Bar exam administered in July 2006.
