Volunteer internship with private organization or governmental agency with law-related focus. 50 hours of volunteer service is required for each academic unit. You will also write a mid-term and final report that identifies ethical issues in the workplace and reflects on them using your philosophical coursework.

PRE-REQUISITES: completion of 15 upper-division units for the Philosophy major. Senior standing strongly recommended. Consent of instructor and department chair is required. Arrangements for the internship must be made with the Philosophy Pre-Law Advisor BEFORE the start of classes.

  • If you are interested in the internship program for Fall 2010, please send me an e-mail message this spring at your earliest opportunity to indicate your areas of interest.
  • Los Angeles and Orange Counties have volunteer internship opportunities eligible for this program. Please search their on-line internship listings to see if they have law-related internships of interest to you. Once I approve your selection, you will then apply directly to them for a placement. This review can take several months.
