8: The Wishing Stone

On the path from the Moon Bridge to the Teahouse, we see a step-stone panel of a mythical bird, the Phoenix. According to the legend, when a Phoenix dies it bursts into flames and out of its own ashes comes a new Phoenix. The phoenix are symbolic of immortality and represent good luck and longevity for one who owns it.
