Professional Activities
Dr. Hieu P. Nguyen is an assistant professor of marketing at California State University. Prior to his appointment at CSULB, Dr. Nguyen was a visiting professor at the University of Texas at Arlington after completing his Doctorate from UTA. His current research focuses on emotional attachment to brands, the influence of attachment orientations on consumer behaviors, memory and decision making, motivation and pro-social behaviors. His work has appeared in the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Advances in Consumer Research, as well as proceedings of various conferences including the Academy of Marketing Science Annual Conference, American Marketing Association Winter Educator's Conference, and Society for Marketing Advances Conference. Dr. Nguyen has been an active member of the American Marketing Association and Association for Consumer Research. He was a doctoral fellow at the prestigious Annual AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium in 2005. Prior to working on his Doctorate in marketing, Dr. Nguyen worked in various positions in general trading (Tomen Corp.), public relations (John Bailey & Associates), marketing communications (Ericsson), radio (MTV Asia), and client services (e-Telequest).

In Fall 2008 Dr. Nguyen teaches principles of Marketing (MKTG300) and Marketing Strategy Management (MKTG494).
