Highlight of the day

The Roshapolooza Party put on by Hillel of Greater Long Beach and West Orange County will feature The Candies, a pasta bar and a pizza bar. The party will be at the Long Beach Holiday Inn Hotel off the 405 freeway at Lakewood Boulevard from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. All proceeds will go to charity. Admission for students with ID is three cans of food or $5. Students without ID require three cans of food and $10, or $15 without the food donation. The food will be donated to a homeless shelter. Highlight of the Day
    
The Long Beach Greens, a group of volunteer activists, will meet every month on the fourth Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Mama Adelle’s Restaurant in Long Beach, 2030 E. 4th St., just east of Cherry Avenue.

  
The Greens work toward a fair economy, a just society and a sustainable future. This month, the group will discuss police abuse, the Port Strike and California’s governor race.

     The Night Walk for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will hold its two to three mile evening walk at Edison Field, 2000 Gene Autry Way in Anaheim.
