Moral Dilemma

Demonstration • The Great News Network, a Christian organization, put on a presentation on campus Friday to get students to think about how they are living their lives and realize the spiritual consequences of their moral decisions. Erika Jones / Online Forty-Niner

News

  • Demolition possible for expansion
The need for a new, more accommodating, state of the art science building at Cal State Long Beach has administration officials pleading for funding and project approval that would lead to the demolision of two campus buildings.

  • Express bus line offers students options
If you commute to Cal State Long Beach from the greater Los Angeles area and spend hours in traffic every day, Metro has a solution for you.

Opinion

Diversions
  • Yellowcard growns up with ‘Lights and Sounds’
The new Yellowcard album “Lights and Sounds” delivers a new mature rock ‘n’ roll sound, with the same pop punk violin melodies. “Lights” proves the emo-punk group has grown up, but has not lost its roots for up-beat hits.

  • ‘Ashes and Snow’ showcases humans, animals in harmony
Two overwhelming buildings constructed out of train cars and waterproof tarps may seem like an unlikely place to hold an exhibition encouraging tranquility and peace, but within these massive edifices lies an important and moving art exhibition, “Ashes and Snow.”

Sports

  • 49ers remain at the top while Trojans fall
Led by the unforeseen play of sophomore Francisco Valdez, the Long Beach State men’s volleyball team showed why they are ranked No. 1 in the MPSF, as they overcame a one-game deficit to a 3-1 victory over No. 13 USC.

  • Dirtbag squad impressive against LBSU pro alumni
Fans, family and friends cheered on alumni in Saturday’s Old Timers game and the Pro Alumni game.

  • Anteaters dominate Beach, 73-67
Previously second place in the Big West conference, the Long Beach State Men’s Basketball team looked to tarnish a perfect 7-0 record held by the first place UC Irvine Anteaters and gain leverage in the conference standings. The loss dropped LBSU to a third place tie in conference standings.
