Graduation • Last year’s graduation ceremony included an
unexpected shower of confetti being tossed on the graduates as they marched out
to take their seats and eventually receive their diplomas from President Maxson.
This year’s ceremony will be held with the new Cal State Long Beach president,
F. King Alexander, this week on campus.

women find glass ceiling
hard to break
Women
students at Cal State Long Beach
may find it difficult to break
the glass ceiling after college.

Business Leaders, released late
February, found the corporate environment
of California in last place nationally
in regard to women holding leadership
positions.

As

- Never
say ‘eventually,’ eventually
you will plain miss out
Leaving
college is very different
from leaving high school.
In high school, many people
have a set course ahead:
college. You are sad to leave
friends, but know what awaits
you in college will not even
compare to what you experienced
in high school in terms of
education, friendship, love,
hate and possibly all other
emotions and experiences.
You have had enough as a
teenager and are anxious
and ready to see what waits
around the corner.

Long
