Christmas films ready consumers for holidays

There is nothing better to get people in the mood for the holidays than watching a favorite Christmas movie. There is a long list of Christmas films that have been made, but only a few stand out.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a different type of Christmas movie, obviously it involves a great deal of imagination and creativity. The film took Christmas to a different level. The movie’s visual effects are great eye-candy and for all you Tim Burton fans, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a real treat because he wrote the story. Who else would give Christmas a dark theme?

“A Christmas Story” is your classic movie. The movie is about Ralphie — the protagonist of the movie — who has to convince his parents, teachers and Santa Claus that a BB gun is the perfect gift.

“My all time favorite Christmas movie is “A Christmas Movie.” Ever since I was a kid I loved this movie. Sometimes Christmas can be stressful, but this makes it humorous,” said Jeffrey Davies, a film student.

The plot revolves around good ol’ Charlie Brown who is repelled by the commercialism he sees around him. Charlie then goes on a personal quest in finding the true meaning of Christmas.

“A Charlie Brown Christmas” is the television special that defines Christmas. “The movie, “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” always lifts my Christmas spirits. It is so funny. Charlie is also so adorable that you are always rooting for him and hoping he has a happy Christmas,” said Jessica Levy, a student of anthropology.
