Men's basketball

Junior guard Ron Johnson received the Big West Conference Best Hustle Award. The San Diego native led the conference in steals at 2.2 per game overall and 2.7 in league contests.
 

Women's basketball

Ekuah Ramsey, junior forward, earned Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. She led the league in steals averaging 2.37 per game. In 25 out of 27 games this season, Ramsey had at least one steal.

Crystal Givens, also a junior forward, was named Best Sixth Man by the conference. In league play, Givens averaged 7.9 points and 6.2 rebounds per outing. She also ranked second in blocks during conference games.
 

Women's Tennis

The Beach (9-2 overall, 2-1 Big West Conference) scored a 5-2 victory over Yale (5-3) on Tuesday at the 49er campus courts.

49er freshman Anastasia Dvornikova defeated Yale's Andrea Goldberg, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. In No. 2 singles, senior Mandy Carvalho defeated Margaret Purcell, 6-4, 6-4.

At No. 1 doubles, LBSU's Carvalho and Sophie Han improved their record to 10-1 on the season, defeating Yale's Biffy Kaufman and Goldberg.
